Through Her Eyes
A legacy Documentary on Krishna DAS
Project Overview
Chanting Through Her Eyes is a legacy documentary told through the feminine gaze, honoring the sacred devotional path of world-renowned kirtan artist Krishna Das. This phase of the film focuses on documenting his upcoming India pilgrimage with longtime collaborators Nina Rao and Arjun Bruggeman.

From the banks of the Ganga in Rishikesh to the urban bhakti gatherings in Mumbai and Bangalore, this cinematic journey will illuminate not just the public presence of Krishna Das — but the unseen devotional life, the feminine wisdom that holds the chant, and the spiritual transmission that lives beyond the sound.

This film is my offering — to capture a moment in spiritual history that is both deeply rooted and urgently relevant.

Overview
This October–November, a unique opportunity is emerging to accompany Krishna Das — world-renowned kirtan artist and spiritual teacher — on a legacy tour through India. With key stops in Rishikesh, Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore, this journey is not only a return to the roots of Bhakti, but a rare moment to capture the essence of spiritual transmission in motion.
Julianne Reynolds, an award-winning filmmaker and longtime devotee of the Divine Mother and the path of mantra, will direct a sacred visual chronicle of this pilgrimage — told through the eyes of Nina Rao, beloved assistant and spiritual companion to Krishna Das. This feminine-centered perspective offers a fresh, intimate view of legacy, lineage, and living devotion in our modern world
Why It Matters
In a world of noise, chant is a medicine of remembrance.
This project preserves a spiritual legacy that spans generations and continents — inviting audiences into the inner life of devotion, told from a woman’s lens, rooted in reverence.
By contributing, you become a part of this sacred witnessing — helping to archive a living transmission for generations to come.
Why This Film Matters
At a time when spiritual teachings are rapidly commercialized, this film is a prayer in motion — a cinematic offering to preserve the sacred while honoring the unseen feminine force behind legacy. Told not through talking heads, but through presence, sound, and quiet devotion, this project seeks to bring audiences into the felt field of mantra, service, and soul remembrance.
It’s more than a documentary — it’s a living archive of sacred lineage.

TESTIMONIALS

"The process of making the film, "The Power of Dance" was a new and surprisingly vulnerable experience. Since the first day, I was struck by Julianne Reynolds sensitivity in seeing a situation beyond the obvious and how she could convey a mood through her camera and editing work. So many times I heard her summarize my very personal intentions and vision to me, with perfect clarity and honesty… it was like looking in a mirror!

“I have been working with Julianne on a documentary film for over two years, and between her editorial abilities, and talents on how to construct a story line that is compelling and thoughtful, she stays present the whole time and open to what the story has to teach her. She is more then just a storyteller. She is creative, collaborative, and authentic in her approach to filmmaking."
